TechnoCycle’s backup tape destruction service can support the secure disposition and destruction of removable media in a variety of sizes, from 10 mm to 40 mm. This shredding can take place at your location as part of a NAID AAA Certified Mobile Destruction, while you watch, or be removed for secure off-site destruction.

After receiving your request for the destruction of your back-up tapes or other media and devices, a five digit unique lot number is assigned for the service. We collect the items and return them to our facility where they are weighed in and then stored securely in preparation to be manifested. All assets collected from your location are included in a manifest which lists each item with its serial number, make, model, or any other identifying information before each is destroyed.

We then shred the tapes in our high capacity shredding machines. Shredding size is critically important in protecting discarded media from even rudimentary forensics and recovery techniques.

We then provide a manifest, Certificates of Destruction and other requested documentation within 24 business hours after the completion of the requested services. After destruction all remaining material is kept in our secure facility before being securely transferred to a certified partner for further shredding, separation, and recycling.

Not unlike our off-site services, our NAID AAA Certified Mobile Destruction equipment includes a shredder capable of destroying all types of tapes and media, including the data they contain. With this service we are able to visit your facility and perform certified tape destruction services. The process remains the same with the documentation of serial numbers for all items, the destruction, the Certificate of Destruction, and the ongoing security of the shredded items until they are recycled by a certified partner.
